Russell Steele joined Port Madison Enterprises the first quarter of 2001 bringing 30 years of experience in all phases of Hospitality Management. Since then, Russell has spearheaded the successful opening of a casino destination resort on the Kitsap Peninsula that includes 3 restaurants, a main casino gaming instillation, spa and 85-room deluxe hotel. Russell has also worked to diversify PME business operations by acquiring the popular event facility Kiana Lodge, expanding retail operations including the recent re-launch of the Masi Shop and the acquisition of White Horse Golf Course.
Russell is the recipient of the 2009 Kitsap Peninsula Visitor and Convention Bureau Lifetime Achievement Award due to his efforts to increasing tourism opportunities in Kitsap County. In 2011, Russell was also awarded Kitsap Economic Development Alliance’s Economic Development Champion of the Year in recognition of his longtime support of the economic development in the area.
Prior to working for PME, Russell was involved in the opening of Quinault Beach Resort & Casino, a fifty million dollar project for the Quinault Indian Nation. He also spent five years as a Regional Manager for ARAMARK Corporation where he oversaw operations for Lake Quinault Lodge, Kalaloch Lodge, Cascade Peaks and Coldwater Ridge. He also managed properties for John Q. Hammons Hotels and Sterling Hotels. Russell started his hospitality industry career in the scullery, after earning his Business Administration degree at Seattle University.
